Using her experience as a beloved art teacher at Figment Creative Labs and as a muralist specializing in custom art creations across the south Austin educational community, Melissa will shape a bespoke, enriching, and child-led art experience just for your kid. In partnership with Miss Mel, your child will experience their design come to life in their own space! Melissa’s open, free, and whimsical aesthetic pairs perfectly with collaborations with children and leaves families with custom art work both parents and children will cherish.

Custom Murals
The Process
Free Consultation
Join Mel for a free consultation via in person or by phone call. After gathering details on the space in mind and listening to client’s vision/goals for the mural, you’ll receive a quote to know what cost will be.
Surface Prep
Each surface is different and some require more time than others to clean, tape and prime. It is a less exciting step in the mural process but a very important one in ensuring quality and longevity of the mural.
Design
The design period is about a 2 week waiting period unless client has requested an expedited option. Three free revisions are offered before payment is needed prior to any further revisions.
Installation
The best part yet, the painting begins and you can see your vision come together layer by layer. Depending on the amount of details this can take 1-2 days a few weeks, however Mel will always communicate the timeline clearly and work hard to bring about an efficient turnaround time.

Design Hours + Materials + Labor + Licensing = Final Cost
Personal projects start at $400 for a small “4’x4’ piece, and most interior projects end up working out to around $25-$45 per square foot.
